The Ananda pilgrimage to Leh, Ladakh was from August 29 to September 1.
4 of us from chennai travelled to Leh. We took a flight to Delhi and connecting flight to Leh.
There were a total of 36 pilgrims, from Delhi, mumbai, chennai, also from Singapore and oman.
Because of the high altitude of Leh( 11,480 feet/ 3,500m) itbis recommended to take diamox tablet for 2 days before and 2 days after reaching Leh.
As soon as I landed I felt very dizzy and later had an excruciating headache. Though the group had a trip to Shanti stupa, I had to sleep it off and felt better the next day.

Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed Stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in north India.[1] It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama.[2] The Stupa has become a tourist attraction not only due to its religious significance but also due to its location which provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
