I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Khandala from November 23rd to November 25th. Devotees from all over India attended the retreat.
The retreat was at Dukes Hotel, Khandala. We had a beautiful view of the plateaus and a tall waterfall falling down the mountains.
We had the great opportunity to have three discourses by Jyotish and Devi ji.
Beautiful discourses by Jyotish and Devi Ji.
the Principles that I could understand were:
1. Dharmic living following the yamas and niyamas-
Yudhishtar's dog called Dharmarajan - When Yudhishtar went to heaven he was asked to leave the dog behind. But he refused and he said he will not go to heaven if the dog cannot also accompany him. Then suddenly the dog turned into Vishnu and it was only to test him that he had to face this dilemma.
Another story on Dharma was that of a saintly person. God told him to leave everything and live for God Alone. His wife died in childbirth and left him a baby. He asked God " What will happen to my baby? How can I leave the baby and come?". God said leave the baby under this tree and see what happens. So he wrapped the baby and left it under a tree and hid behind some bushes. Soon a procession arrived. It was the queen and hearing the baby crying she stopped her carriage and asked her people to search for the baby. When the baby was brought to her she said she will take care of the baby as if it was her own.
So there is no one right answer for dharmic living. One has to feel what is right in a situation based on intuition.
